Problem Statement

In the plane, given an angle AxyAxy. a) Given a triangle MNPMNP of area TT, describe how to construct a triangle of given area TT and altitude hh. Using this, describe how to construct parallelogram ABCDBCD with two sides lying on AxAx and AyAy, the area TT and the distance between the two opposite sides equal to d given. b) From an arbitrary point II on the line CDCD, construct a line that intersects the lines AAB, BCBC, ADAD at EE, GG and FF respectively so that the area of triangle AEFAEF is equal to the area of parallelogram ABCDABCD. c) Apply the above two sentences: Given any point OO in the plane. From OO, construct a line that intersects two rays AxAx and AyAy at EE and FF respectively so that the area of triangle AEFAEF is equal to the area of any given triangle.
